Originally situated in Custer County, the Edwardsville Cemetery was relocated in 1959 when the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers constructed Foss Lake (Foss Reservoir). The graves and markers were carefully moved to their current location on the north side of the Canute Cemetery grounds. As you enter the main Canute Cemetery from the south frontage road (the old Route 66 alignment), drive straight ahead about 300 yards; the Edwardsville section is marked by a row of metal poles.
